Sun Angel Excellence in the Humanities Research Scholarships:  Deadline Thursday, November 12, 5pm

The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage and support undergraduate research in the humanities.  Majors in english, film and media studies, history, languages and literatures, philosophy or religious studies are eligible.  

For spring 2010, up to three scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded. The application for Spring 2010 scholarships can be found here: http://clas.asu.edu/ug_res_sch.

National Scholarships

The Lorraine W. Frank Office of National Scholarship Advisement administered by Barrett, The Honors College helps students apply for national and international awards, including the Rhodes, Fulbright, Marshall, and many more. This office assists any Arizona State University student applying for one of these award, not exclusively students in Barrett, The Honors College.

History Scholarships and Awards

History has numerous scholarships and awards that are distributed throughout the year. These awards are typically conducted as nominations by faculty, and as such, there are no applications. Additionally, the Department of History honors students each year at the Annual Spring Awards banquet. 

The following awards are given at the annual History Awards and Recognition Ceremony:

• Niels Henrik Rector Memorial Scholarship in History
• Alumni Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Studies
• Alumni Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Studies for a Continuing Major
• Guilford A. Dudley Memorial Prize for Excellence in Asian Studies
  Given to a graduate or undergraduate student
• Wallace E. Adams Memorial Award
  Given to a graduate or undergraduate student
• Feldt-Barbanell Women’s History Award
  Given to a graduate or undergraduate student
• Michael Steiner Memorial Award for Best Dissertation
• Alumni Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies
